Staircase balustrades in steel are usually required on communal access staircases and must meet the building regulation performance requirements. Handrails can be flat with a coloured thermoplastic covering or prepared for a timber handrail to be fitted by others. Alternatively the handrail can be a round tube.
They are usually constructed from mild steel or occasionally stainless steel. The infill can range from simple spaced vertical bars to glass panels. Fixing details are tailored to suit the individual stair. Wall handrails are manufactured to match the chosen balustrade design.
